Educator Wellness Fund

The Problem Solving Institute, in partnership with Region 8 Education Service Center and the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, is excited to announce the establishment of its new Educator Wellness Fund. The purpose of this fund is to provide support, aid, and resources to educators to help improve their overall well-being. This is a critical step in helping educators meet the challenges of the modern classroom.

The Problem Solving Institute believes that leadership is deeply rooted in caring for people, humanity, and altruism. We've witnessed that leaders who are in the trenches, like educators are, get there because they had limited choices and they are committed to a better way, a better life and a better society. It is this experience that motivated our desire to find a way to give back. With the help of Cindy McKinney, Program Director of Region 8 Education Service Center, Kim Harsh-Hiatt, Superintendent of North Adams Community Schools, Jennifer Kasmier, Director of Leadership Engagement at the Foellinger Foundation, and  Alison Gerardot, Chief Impact Officer of the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, the Educator Wellness Fund was established.

Educator self-care can be challenging, but adopting a holistic health and wellness plan can improve physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being, helping educators be the best they can be for their students and colleagues. You are invited to join us in advancing the well-being of our educators by supporting the Educator Wellness Fund.

Grant applications for educators will begin in the summer of 2023.
